March Azalea Kitchen
So, he initially wanted to bring me to another cafe for dinner but unfortunately it was not open yet thus, we opted for another option nearby which was March Azalea Kitchen. My thoughts based on my first glance towards this cafe from the outside was hmm okay, just another hipster cafe.
But boy I was wrong. Instead of those basic minimal design, March Azalea Kitchen was filled with greenery, books & paintings adding some artsy feels into it.
Their ambiance is pretty cozy & relaxing.
Service wise, friendly & food does not take long to arrive!
Mushroom Egg Rice // MYR10.80
A simple rice bowl served with sliced cucumbers, pork floss and fried abalone mushroom topped with soft runny egg. Mixed them well and you’d get yourself a really hearty meal. Though I personally think that the mushroom is a bit soggy, not crispy enough but rice choice was excellent. Instead of normal rice, they used Japanese pearl millet which gives you a very fulfilling experience while chewing through it.
Carbonara Spaghetti with Mixed Mushroom // MYR14.80
I would label this dish as a creative dish instead of the usual Carbonara. The smell was 10/10 but when you dive into it, it starts to get a bit urm, weird. Probably because they added orange & lemon into the dish making it a bit too zesty. Mushroom was juicy but again, too zesty. Would not recommend it to you if you are not really someone who's okay with creative cuisine.
FYI plants in pots by the wall are for sale!
Overall, foods are not up to my expectation, too much flavor too complicated. Oh but I heard that their dessert eg. Creme Brulee & etc are pretty decent. I haven't give it a go yet, perhaps you should try & let me know in the comments?
I personally would probably not come back for the food but it would be a nice place to just sit down alone & just do work or read.
