If you're looking for a place which fits above criteria, jot down Await Café as it would be a great choice for the list. Located above a wine shop, Await Cafe is a unique coffee house serving single origin coffee in hand drip & syphon style.

 

What instantly caught my eye was their stylish decor - plywood floors, white walls with contrasting colors sofas and cushions & wooden bar counter, totally homey without any commercial feelings. And also I must say, they have really good taste for music! Instead of popular (mainstream) songs, they opt for classic oldies which was fantastic & veeery soothing.

Taiwanese Minced Pork Rice +MYR9 (Lunch Offer) // MYR12

To be in a cafe expertise in coffee brewing, we were not expecting the food to good but boy, we were wrong this time. You should really really try this if you like minced pork rice! Juiciness was there, flavor was there, only you were not there to experience all these :- ( alright, jk but it was really gooood, you should definitely try it out if you are here & wanted to get your tummy filled!

Saba Don +MYR10 (Lunch Offer) // MYR15

For someone who is very picky with food (especially when it comes to fish), this was totally acceptable & yummy. New favorite unlocked! The Saba was fresh, not a sense of fishiness was sensed. Looking at the fact that I cleared everything in the bowl (even the salad), you could tell this is another recommended dish, must try!

If you are here for a cup of espresso-based coffee drink, I must say this is not your place. Await Cafe serves hand-brewed coffee which is brewing from quality single origin coffee beans. Either by siphon method or hand drip (pour over) method, they will brew your cup of drinks with hearts and loves.

If you are a novice like me, no worries as the menu explained clearly the flavor, aroma, bitterness and acidity of each type of coffee, pretty useful.

Though to me, coffees here are really not my cup of taste. He who came along said the same that he would prefer coffee from somewhere else. And I personally would prefer normal black ice over coffees here. But again, I am technically not a coffee person so I'll leave it here for you guys to find out as there are tons of good comments regarding their coffee but I guess people tend to have different points of view, so do let me know what do you think in the comments below!

Anti-Aging Tea // MYR12

Besides of coffee, Await Cafe do offer a small collection of naturalize teas, chocolate drink and fresh milk for non-caffeine takers as well. Anti-aging tea contains an appetizing blend of French Rose + Rosemary + Lemongrass. Flavor wise, its like having a flower garden in your mouth when you take a sip on it, relaxing & soothing.

A trip to the washroom is like a trip towards memory lane. They have lots of postcards up on the wall. Postcards are either from co-owners or regulars who had love & had been with the café throughout their journey. You can find postcards from all over the globe here & its really heartwarming to see words from all these people who appreciated the existen of this café.

Seasonal Fruit Desserts // MYR12

Await Cafe comes up with homemade seasonal special each month and for this month, they have Pineapple Cheesecake. Not a fan of pineapple but this cheesecake tasted superb. The crust is well-seasoned & just the right amount. Personally felt, the cheesecake itself is just nice without the pineapple puree.

 So, Await Cafe also have this outdoor smoking area which have a pretty cozy decor if you put aside the fact that Malaysia is sunny 24/7.
